Thanksgiving is a celebration founded on a feeling of gratitude. It is a season to reflect and be thankful. For some it brings sadness for the special people that are not with us anymore , and for others it triggers feelings of anxiety.
As a part of our 3F tribe (Faith, food and fitness), it is important to have a victorious Thanksgiving celebration that doesn't leave you feeling drained, angry and with regrets.
FAITH
The week before Thanksgiving start every day giving thanks for at least 3 things. This will bring joy and positivity.
Visualize the people that usually make you feel uncomfortable and always get the worst out of you and just S.I.R them. S.I.R. means Smile, Ignore and Relocate. When You Smile, Ignore and Relocate you avoid conflicts, cool-down and stay positive. Smile at their comment. Ignore, just to avoid getting in to altercations or changing the subject to something positive. Relocate , quickly move away to another area or another subject.
START your day with a small prayer and reading the Word of God. Things can go south quickly but when you spend time with God in the morning you are creating a shield of strength.
Food
Start your day with protein. It will keep you full longer and leave some space for the carbs you will face at the Thanksgiving Feast.
Do not deprive yourself, just use moderation. I usually take a tablespoon or two of the sides I like. That way I can taste what I like without going overboard.Fitness
Try to do at least 1 hour of workout. That will help to balance your intake vs burning ratio.
Preferable do weights, that will help metabolize the extra carbs and will help you burn calories all the day long.
Do your workouts in the morning. On Thanksgiving Day things can go crazy fast and doing your workout in the morning keep it a priority.
If you are short on time do a HIIT WORKOUT. Only 20 min of HIITS will accelerate your metabolism for up to 2 days.
